Amazon store setup services for a process that is matching strings, not judging your business
The most common reason new seller applications get rejected is a legal name that reads slightly differently across your ID, your bank statement and your tax record. Not fraud, not eligibility. A Ltd against a Limited, and an automated check that never reaches a human.
Account registration, verification, tax and bank setup, category ungating and the storefront itself, done once rather than three times.
What are Amazon store setup services?
Amazon store setup services cover getting a new seller account registered and trading: preparing documents so they pass verification first time, completing registration and the video verification call, configuring tax and bank details, getting approval in gated categories, creating the first listings, and building the branded storefront once Brand Registry is in place.
Registration itself takes half an hour if your paperwork is in order. That conditional clause is doing an enormous amount of work.
Most of what makes Amazon store setup services worth paying for happens before you open the application.
Why new seller applications get rejected
Verification is largely automated, which means it fails for reasons that have nothing to do with whether your business is real.
The name has to match exactly, everywhere. Your legal name on the government ID, the bank statement, the tax record and the Seller Central profile all need to read identically. Inconsistency across those is the single most frequent cause of rejection. A middle initial on one document and not another is enough.
A bad scan is treated as a forged document. Blurry images, shadows across the page, or edges cropped off mean the automated system cannot read the text, and an unreadable document is handled as a potentially altered one. Flat, well lit, complete page, original file rather than a photo of a screen.
Proof of address has a shelf life. Utility bills, bank statements or lease documents generally need to be dated within the last 180 days and to show your name and address as they appear everywhere else. An old bill that is otherwise perfect will still fail.
There is a video verification call. Either an instant call, usually a few minutes of waiting, or a scheduled one booked two to seven business days out. It runs ten to twenty minutes and you need your original documents in hand, a quiet room and an ID that is valid, signed and legible. It is a document check rather than an interview.
Requirements differ by country and Amazon updates them regularly, so confirm the current list for your marketplace before gathering anything. None of this is difficult. It is just unforgiving, and it does not tell you which of the four things you got wrong.
What to have ready, and what each thing has to match
Gather all of this first. Starting the application and collecting documents as you go is how the mismatches get in.
| Item | Requirement | Has to match |
|---|---|---|
| Government photo ID | Valid, signed, fully legible | The name on everything else |
| Proof of address | Dated within roughly 180 days | Name and address on the ID and bank details |
| Bank account | In the business or account holder name | The legal name in Seller Central |
| Bank statement | Recent, showing name and address | Everything above, character for character |
| Tax identification | Business or personal, per your structure | The registered legal entity name |
| Business details | Registered address and structure | Company registry records exactly |
| Chargeable card | Valid, not expiring shortly | Usually the account holder |
Pick the exact legal name once, down to whether it ends in Ltd or Limited, then use that string everywhere without variation. That one decision prevents most of what goes wrong here.
What our Amazon store setup services cover
From nothing to a store that is trading, with the parts that trip people up handled before they can.
Document preparation
Every document checked against every other one before anything is submitted, including scan quality. This is the whole ballgame and it takes an afternoon.
Registration and verification
The application completed accurately and the video verification call prepared for, so you are not discovering a missing document while an agent waits.
Tax and bank configuration
Tax interview, VAT or sales tax settings and disbursement account set up correctly at the start, because fixing these later means another verification cycle.
Plan selection
Individual against Professional, decided on your actual expected volume rather than on the assumption that the paid plan is automatically the serious choice.
Category ungating
Approval in gated categories and brands, with invoices that meet the requirements rather than invoices you happen to have.
Fulfilment setup
FBA enrolment or merchant fulfilled shipping templates, handling times and returns settings configured before the first order rather than after it goes late.
First listings
Built properly from the start, inside the current title and image rules, so you are not rewriting the catalogue three months in.
Storefront build
The branded Amazon Store, once Brand Registry is in place. Pages, navigation and range structure rather than a single tile with your logo on it.
User permissions
Roles set up so more than one person can act, and so a departing contractor does not take your only admin access with them.
How the setup runs
Decide the legal name, then gather
One exact string, agreed before anything else, and every document collected and checked against it. Most of the value in this service is created in this step.
Register and verify
Application completed, video call booked or taken, and the follow up handled if Amazon asks for anything further.
Configure before listing
Tax, bank, plan, fulfilment and permissions set up while there is no trading pressure, which is considerably easier than changing them once orders are arriving.
Ungate, list and build the store
Category approvals pursued where needed, first listings created to current rules, and the storefront built once Brand Registry allows it.
Before any of that, it is worth knowing whether the products work. Our Amazon FBA calculator and eCommerce profit margin calculator will tell you what is left after fees, and that answer occasionally ends the project on a good day rather than an expensive one.
Getting approval to sell what you want to sell
Plenty of categories and brands need approval before you can list. The requirements are specific, and a near miss is a rejection.
The invoice rules
From an authorised distributor, listing at least ten units, dated inside the last 90 to 180 days, showing full supplier name, address, phone and website.
It has to match you
The business name and address on the invoice must match your Seller Central details exactly. The same matching problem as registration, in a different room.
Brand gating is different
Restricted brands usually need authorisation from the brand owner or trademark holder. No invoice substitutes for permission you do not have.
Account health can auto-approve you
Sellers with strong health, order defect rate under one percent and consistent sales, are automatically approved into many sub-categories without submitting anything.
Sequence matters
Trading cleanly in ungated categories first often opens the gated ones on its own, which is cheaper and faster than fighting for them on day one.
Do not list first and ask later
Listing into a restricted category or brand without approval is an enforcement risk on a brand new account, which is the worst possible time to take one.
The fifth card is the advice most new sellers ignore. Ungating is much easier from an account with six months of clean trading behind it than from one with none.
Individual or Professional
The Professional plan is a fixed monthly fee, currently around $39.99, and the Individual plan charges per item sold instead.
Individual suits
Low volume, testing an idea, or clearing stock. If you are selling a handful of units a month the per item fee is genuinely cheaper.
Professional suits
Anyone selling meaningful volume, and anyone who needs the things attached to it, including bulk tools, advertising eligibility and unrestricted categories.
The switch point
Roughly where the per item fee exceeds the monthly one. Work it out from your forecast rather than defaulting to Professional because it sounds more committed.
Fees change, so check the current rate for your marketplace. You can move between plans, so this is a reversible decision rather than a permanent one.
How much do Amazon store setup services cost?
A fixed project fee. Setup is finite work with a clear end, so it should not be sold as a retainer.
Readiness review
Whether your documents will pass, which categories you need approval for and whether the products carry enough margin to be worth listing. Free.
Setup project
Registration through to trading: verification, tax and bank, plan, fulfilment, first listings and permissions. Fixed fee, quoted after the review.
Storefront build
The branded Amazon Store, scoped separately because it depends on Brand Registry and on how much range you actually have to show.
If your documents are already consistent and you sell in ungated categories, you may not need us at all. The review will tell you that, and we would rather say it than take a fee for filling in a form you could complete yourself.
What comes after the store is live
Amazon Brand Registry
The next step for anyone with a brand, and the gate to the storefront, A+ Content and the protection tools. A pending trademark is now enough to enrol.
See Brand Registry →Amazon listing optimization
Titles inside the 75 character rule, bullets written to the indexed portion, images that will not get you suppressed. Cheaper done right the first time.
See listing work →Amazon account management
The whole account run for you afterwards, for sellers who would rather not learn account health the expensive way.
See account management →Common questions about Amazon store setup
Most often because your legal name is inconsistent across documents. The name on your government ID, bank statement, tax record and Seller Central profile all need to read identically, and a middle initial present on one and missing on another is enough to fail. The second most common cause is scan quality: blurry, shadowed or cropped documents cannot be read by the automated system and get treated as possibly altered.
A short identity and document check, either as an instant call with a few minutes of waiting or a scheduled one booked two to seven business days ahead. It usually runs ten to twenty minutes. Have your original documents physically with you, use a quiet room, and make sure your ID is valid, signed and fully legible. It is a document check rather than an interview about your business plan.
A valid government photo ID, proof of address dated within roughly the last 180 days, bank account details with a recent statement, a tax identification number, your business details, and a chargeable card. Registration itself takes around thirty to sixty minutes once you have all of it and the names agree with each other.
Usually with an invoice from an authorised distributor listing at least ten units, dated within the last 90 to 180 days, showing the supplier’s full name, address, phone and website, and matching your Seller Central business name and address exactly. Restricted brands are different and generally need authorisation from the brand owner. Sellers with strong account health are often auto-approved into many sub-categories without submitting anything.
Individual charges per item sold and suits low volume or testing an idea. Professional is a fixed monthly fee, currently around $39.99, and is worth it once your volume passes the point where per item fees exceed it, or when you need what comes with it including bulk tools, advertising eligibility and unrestricted categories. You can switch later, so it is not a permanent decision.
Not until you are enrolled in Brand Registry, which needs a trademark. The good news is that a pending application from a supported office is now accepted, so the wait is shorter than most sellers expect. Until then the product listings do all the work, which is a good argument for getting those right first.
Registration is under an hour with documents ready, and verification can complete within days if nothing needs resubmitting. The variables are the video call slot, whether any document gets queried, and whether your categories need approval. The sellers who take months are almost always the ones who started the application before gathering the paperwork.
Find out whether your documents will pass first time
We will check your legal name across every document, tell you which categories you will need approval for, and confirm whether the products carry enough margin to be worth listing at all. Fixing a mismatch before you apply costs nothing. Fixing it afterwards costs weeks. No obligation, no sales pitch.
